Workforce Development Efforts for
Lafarge North America

Overview

Alpena Community College's Workforce Development programs enable local employers to provide specialized training to their employees. This training is designed to meet specific needs, may be conducted either at the work place or at Alpena Community College, and can be conducted for any number of employees.

Lafarge North America - Alpena Plant and ACC have a long history of working together to provide technical training and educational opportunities to Lafarge hourly and management employees for over XX years.

Lafarge NA benefits from this working relationship include:

  • Flexible scheduling and training opportunities
  • Leadership and skill development
  • Customized coursework to meet personal and professional goals
  • Access to industry-standard testing and research facilities at the World Center for Concrete Technology
  • Two-year, four-year and graduate degrees

Currently ACC and a Lafarge training coordinator are developing and delivering a prototype control room operator and process engineer certification program. This training package contains over 120 modules related to specific Lafarge operations.
