27th Annual Volunteer Center Christmas Wish List
November 8 - December 3, 2004The 27th annual Christmas Wish List program begins November 8,
2004 and runs through December 3rd at noon.
In 2003, nearly 500 area children received gifts, thanks to the
generosity of individuals, groups, and businesses in the Alpena
area.
The children included in the program are recommended by the
public schools and Headstart programs in Alpena county and Hillman.
Potential donors can call or stop by the Volunteer Center to be
matched up with the requests of a child or children.
This year, matching will take place November 8 - December 3. Gift
donations will be received from November 29th through December 3rd
in room 104 of the Center building. Volunteers work from 8:30 a.m. -
5:30 p.m. welcoming our donors with smiles and words of
appreciation. Gifts can be wrapped or unwrapped; volunteers and
students wrap for those donors who prefer not to do it themselves.
Monetary donations are welcome. These donations are used to
purchase the requests that are not met by our gift donors.
The Alpena Public Schools Transportation Department plays Santa
by delivering the gifts to the area schools at the end of the
program.
