The 30th annual Christmas Wish List wrapped up on December 12 with Alpena Public Schools bus drivers delivering gifts to referring institutions where they are subsequently distributed to the families.  A holiday tradition in our area, the Christmas Wish List matches generous donors with the wishes of over 500 children and families in need. 

School success workers, teachers, and social service professionals in Alpena, Alcona, Montmorency, and Presque Isle counties submit families to the Volunteer Center's Christmas Wish List by.  These individuals are in a position to verify need and to obtain the very specific requests.  The Volunteer Center does not accept submissions by private individuals.  Confidentiality is strictly maintained.  Gift requests traditionally consist of clothing, toys, household goods, and grocery store gift cards. 

The 2008 program will kick off on Monday, November 10.  Matching of donors to children's wishes will continue until Thursday, December 4.  Gifts will be received the week of December 1, from 8:30am - 5:00pm in Room 104 of the Center building.  Gifts must be labeled with the child's name and code number.

Cash donations are always welcome.  They are used only for gifts and Christmas Wish List expenses.
