Messages from the Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs

The College has done a praiseworthy job in fulfilling its mission to support the economic needs and development of our community. I am particularly pleased to see the opportunity it has provided local youngsters for education beyond the high school level, many of whom would otherwise be stranded with limited job opportunities and unable to bear the expense of advanced education elsewhere. There is no doubt that Alpena Community College contributes substantially to the betterment of lives and opportunities for residents of Northeast Michigan.

As Alpena Community College celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is initiating a $1.6 million fundraising campaign. I am proud to take part in this effort. Success of the “Pathways to the Future” campaign will insure that ACC continues the progress it has made in serving the need for higher education of residents in our region.

Alpena is anchored as a regional center by the excellence of its industries, hospital, mercantile establishments, health care professionals, law and social services, service and supply businesses, recreational facilities and its environment.
But there is no institution or resource more vital in that regard than Alpena Community College. And now the “Pathways to the Future” campaign moves to extend ACC’s reach and enhance its ability to serve its students of all ages and to elevate the intellectual, economic and cultural lives of its regional populace.
