Science Labs Renovations

The Challenge
ACC's science labs are located on the first and second floors of
the Natural Resources Center, which was built in 1972. Upgrading and
renovating these labs is essential to meeting the needs of our
students.
New innovations in safety for our students and faculty, plus new
furnishings and equipment, must be incorporated into the lab spaces
to offer our students the best facilities possible to achieve their
academic goals.
The Plan
- New innovations in safety for our students and faculty, plus
new furnishings and equipment, must be incorporated into the lab
spaces to offer our students the best facilities possible to
achieve their academic goals.
- Anatomy, physiology and microbiology are the building blocks
for ACC’s nursing and medical assistant courses. Pre-nursing,
pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, pre-veterinary and pre-dental
curriculums also require the use of the laboratories along with
their coursework.
- ACC has experienced an increased enrollment in all areas of
the sciences.
- All students who transfer to four-year institutions must
complete at least one Natural Science course with a laboratory
component.
Renovation of the science labs is projected to cost $400,000 as
part of the Pathways to the Future
campaign total costs.
