Building on Tradition:
The Next 50 Years
A strong and vibrant institution, Alpena Community College is
proud of its place as the higher education leader in Northeast
Michigan. ACC will face many future challenges: to increase
services, to continually renew the curriculum, to contribute to the
local economy, to control costs, and to provide Northeast Michigan
with outstanding cultural and civic opportunities. Most of all, ACC
must remain true to the tradition of its first 50 years: providing
quality educational opportunities for our residents, and furthering
partnerships within our five-county region.
The College is poised to lead students and our community into the
next 50 years of growth and education. As part of the College’s
strategic plan, the ACC Board of Trustees and College leadership
have developed an exciting plan to meet the needs of our students as
we move deeper into the twenty-first century. The “Pathways to the
Future” campaign, a $3.5 million project, will not only consolidate
programs into centralized areas, but also unify the entire campus.
Two major “Pathways to the Future” have been identified and serve as
the basis for Alpena Community College’s 50th Anniversary Campaign.
